Share your ideas for adventure. Win prizes.

The 2018 season of Badge of Awesome Communities is here. Win prizes by sharing your favourite things to see and do in great destinations across Canada!

Treetop Trekking – Brampton, Ontario

For me, the Victoria Day long weekend always represents the unofficial kick-off to summer here in Canada. The days get longer, temperatures climb and calendars start to fill up with barbeques, camping trips and other adventures big and small.

So now seems like the perfect time to launch the 2018 season of Badge of Awesome Communities  — our annual initiative inviting you to share your favourite things to see and do in great destinations across the country.

East Coast Outfitters – Halifax, Nova Scotia

This year also marks my 10th year cancer-free. Having leukemia was a grueling experience, but it also taught me the importance of making the most out of life. Inspired by that experience, this project is all about reminding each other about the endless opportunities for adventure our communities have to offer. It’s about motivating folks to get off the couch by sharing ideas for awesome activities in our own backyards.

To celebrate my 10-year anniversary, I’ll be running contests throughout the summer. For every comment you add to any of our 22 Communities pages, you’ll be entered into a monthly draw to win a copy of my book Misadventure Musings: Lessons learned from life’s awesome and absurd moments and other prizes. So add as many ideas as you can think of, and add often! Every entry is another chance to win.

As always, this project couldn’t happen without the tremendous support from our Featured Attraction sponsors. This year’s group truly reflects just how many diverse, awesome things there are to see and do from coast to coast to coast — including horseback tours in the Rockies, wilderness lodges in Saskatchewan’s Boreal forests, axe throwing in Montreal, award-winning wineries in the Annapolis Valley and so much more.

La Reata Ranch – Saskatchewan

My heartfelt thanks go out to every one of our Featured Attractions. Be sure to show them some love when you’re browsing the Communities pages, and keep them in mind for your next adventure.

So welcome summer 2018! Let’s make it one to remember. Explore the pages below, see what ideas for adventure people are posting — and then add your own to the growing collection for your chance to win prizes.

Life is short. Let’s inspire each other to get off our butts to make the most of it.
