Badge of Awesome Communities invites you to share your favourite things to see and do in cool destinations around the world. We caught up with the folks from Camp Kintail — one of our featured attractions from Huron County, Ontario — to learn about what they have to offer.

What makes Camp Kintail awesome?

Camp Kintail: Camp Kintail truly is a space to grow! Campers and guests feel the renewed energy when they arrive on site, and experience a place that creates lasting memories and better connections.

Our camp sessions run in July and August, for campers aged 5-15. We feature a number of day camps for those who live or vacation in Huron and Bruce County, in addition to our many overnight residential camp options.

In the Spring and Fall we host a number of guest groups which include schools, universities, community groups, corporate retreats, religious groups (Presbyterian, Christian, and other religions).

Lastly, Camp Kintail has become the must-visit wedding destination on the shores of Lake Huron. We host multiple weddings every year in our lakeside Chapel and cater for the wedding party and their guests.

When you visit Camp Kintail, you can expect to see our High Ropes Challenge Course, Zipline, and Rockwall, along with the archery range, many intimate campfire pits, sports facilities, and meeting spaces for indoor fun. The main jewel in the crown is the large beach area that features a swim area and the opportunity to kayak, canoe, or paddleboard on Lake Huron. Campers, guests, and staff love spending hot days on the beach followed by a relaxing evening watching the sunset over the lake. A truly breath-taking experience and one that cannot be missed!
