Badge of Awesome Communities invites you to share your favourite things to see and do in cool destinations around the world. We caught up with the folks from Cre8ery Gallery and Studio — one of our featured attractions from Winnipeg — to learn about what they have to offer.

What makes the Cre8ery Gallery and Studio awesome?

Cre8ery Gallery and Studio, an independently-owned, commercial gallery and family business, is conveniently located on the 2nd floor, at 125 Adelaide Street, in Winnipeg’s vibrant Exchange District.

Jordan Miller

Cre8ery Inc., is locally owned by artist, mentor, consultant, and 2011’s Woman of Distinction recipient, Jordan Miller.  She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba’s Fine Arts and the University of Winnipeg’s Arts and Cultural Management Programs.  Her vast knowledge and love of art, and Winnipeg, make her the perfect contact for all of your art or artist needs.

As an artist community space, cre8ery supports local artists by selling their work, providing mentorship and education opportunities, membership gatherings to meet and explore other realms of art and artists as well as guidance towards the growth and development of their art careers.  Classes and lectures are also provided throughout the year. Check the website often for updates. Better yet, become a member and help support a community business!

A variety of art styles, mediums and genres can be found at the gallery.  Works range from professional, seasoned artists to talented new-comers wishing to explore their talents.  The exhibits change bi-weekly in the main gallery and every five weeks in the auxiliary gallery. This makes the gallery new and exciting with wonderful things to discover almost weekly!  Often, privately rented studios within the gallery are open to the public during the day, opening receptions and, of course, First Fridays. This is an amazing opportunity to meet the artists and learn directly from the source about their work!

Jordan’s extensive knowledge of the business side of having an artist career, her personal talent and expertise make her an invaluable resource to both gallery members and the visiting public. If you are interested in a specific piece of art as a personal gift or a corporate purchase, please be sure to ask us to help find those pieces for you!

Cre8ery Gallery and Studio; drop in, make friends, support local artists and help us spread the word!

One response to “Cre8ery Gallery and Studio – Winnipeg, Manitoba”

  1. So happy to see this tribute to Jordan Miller and Cre8ery Gallery. I have been one of the fortunate “upcoming” artists that she has helped along my journey to recognition of my work. I am proud to be a member of this wonderful Winnipeg gallery, and honoured to call Jordan a mentor and a good friend. Thank you for helping more people learn about both.
