Badge of Awesome Communities invites you to share your favourite things to see and do in cool destinations around the world. We caught up with the folks from Seaforth Golf Course — one of our featured attractions from Huron County, Ontario — to learn about what they have to offer.
What makes the Seaforth Golf Course awesome?
Seaforth Golf Course: As Seaforth Golf Club enters its 58th year of operation we recognize that over the years there are many awesome moments and people to celebrate. The golf course has evolved from a 9 hole par 36 with tiny greens and wide open fairways to a beautifully designed and maintained 18 hole, par 71 course that provides a “friendly” challenge for golfers of all abilities. Seaforth has always been known for its great greens and now golfers come from far and wide to enjoy its rolling terrain with every hole presenting a unique test of golf. From tough par threes to reachable “risk and reward” par fours, Seaforth Golf Club offers it all.
It is not just about the course itself but its history and the fact that as an ongoing family business the love of golf is demonstrated from the time you arrive until you depart. The clubhouse is a hub of activity where you can enjoy a casual breakfast, grab a quick sandwich or burger at the turn, and enjoy a cool drink and good food after your round. A banquet hall, lunch room, deck and patio serve groups large and small. While here, you can check out over a half century’s worth of golf memorabilia on display. There is always an enthusiastic staff member or family member here to look after your golfing needs and they all like to tell stories about the course and the people who have played here. Even our club logo has a story behind it.
Warm up at our great practice area complete with chipping greens, putting greens, and a full range. Book a lesson with resident professionals Cam or Robyn Doig who can also help you with purchases in our fully stocked pro shop.
Seaforth Golf Club has hosted nine Country Classic professional tournaments including four Canadian Tour, (now PGA McKenzie Tour Canada ) events. Pros from around the world loved the course, the hospitality, and the atmosphere. We have also hosted several GAO events and continue to be a great venue for invitational tournaments for juniors, men, women, and couples. Our golf club is about the game and the people who play and love it. We respect the traditions and history of the game and expect our visitors to do the same.
